Current Projects:
Multilingual Governance: Language Rights, Administrative Reform, and
the Policy Process in the European Union. Field Research conducted at
the European Parliament, European Commission, and European Court of
Justice. (Summer 2006) funded by the Delegation of the European Commission.
Race and Judicial Elections (with Kathryn DePalo). Co-authors conducted
(Summer, 2005) a 1,200 person direct mail experiment using mock campaign
materials to test the effects of race in judicial elections. Experiment
conducted and preliminary results presented at Annual Meeting of the
American Science Association, September, 2005. Paper being revised for
journal submission.
Après le Deluge: The 2002 German Parliamentary Election (with
Anke Grosskopf). We argue that the German Floods (the causing the largest
single evacuation of Europeans since WWII) allowed Chancellor Schroeder
to reframe the pre-election debate to one of leadership.
